Die Transformation des Motivs
Die Fortsetzung der Werkserie „Fundstücke“ trägt den Untertitel „Fragmente“. Die Motive sind ausschnitthaft, hineingezoomt, zerstückelt und abstrahiert. So wird etwa das Bild eines toten Vogels reduziert auf ein Stück Gefieder, dekorativ präsentiert im kreisrunden Rahmen. Oder, wie in diesem Fall beim Motiv des Flamingos, zu einem mehrteiligen, zusammensetzbaren Bild. Dessen Teile können durcheinander gebracht und in unterschiedlichen Kombinationen präsentiert werden (oder auch unvollständig, nur einzelne Teile). Das ursprüngliche Motiv wird transformiert. Diese Form der Präsentation stellt einerseits die Zerbrechlichkeit und Verletzlichkeit des Vogels bildhaft dar – auch die Extravaganz eines Flamingos ist vergänglich. Andererseits lässt die Reduktion auf einzelne Teile den ästhetischen Blick auf das tote Tier zu: Die Schönheit des pinken Gefieders kommt durch die Loslösung vom ganzen Motiv auf abstrakter Ebene zur Geltung.
The transformation of the motif
The continuation of the series of works has the subtitle “Finds (Fragments)”. The motifs are cut out, zoomed in, fragmented and abstracted. For example, the image of a dead bird is reduced to a piece of feathers, decoratively presented in a circular frame. Or, as in this case with the flamingo motif, into a multi-part, composable image. Its parts can be mixed up and presented in different combinations (or incomplete, only individual parts), so that the original motif is transformed.
This form of presentation visually represents the fragility and vulnerability of the bird – also the extravagance of a Flamingo is volatile. On the other hand, the reduction to individual parts provide an aesthetic view of the dead animal: the beauty of the pink plumage comes into its own on an abstract level by detaching it from the entire motif.
